TriColour Investments (Pty) Limited is a property investment company with a high quality portfolio of commercial and industrial properties.
In 2007 Sage Group PLC (FTSE 100) agreed that its Gauteng operations, based in disparate locations, be relocated to a single campus in Woodmead. The campus was to be purpose built in order to meet its specific operational requirements. TriColour Investments undertook to acquire land and both finance and manage the 18,000 m² development on behalf of Sage Group.
Following its Woodmead success, TriColour completed further developments on behalf of Sage in Durban, Cape Town and Pretoria. A private property fund was thereby established and further properties were subsequently developed or acquired for tenants outside of the Sage Group, most notably Avon, Kimberley Clarke, Regus, Metrofile and BMW.
The property fund now comprises of 13 properties. Its success is built on a sincere commitment to tenants in achievement of their own growth ambitions.
The TriColour Portfolio
The property portfolio is a blend of both developed and acquired properties. It comprises AAA grade commercial buildings, A and B grade industrial buildings and strategic land holdings for development.
The property portfolio consists of 13 properties. TriColour Properties focuses on the development and ownership of commercial and industrial properties. The business is a partnership between, inter alia, Ivan Epstein and Rob Wilkie.
Rob Wilkie – Chief Executive Officer
Rob Wilkie brings a wealth of experience in property investment and development and business merger and acquisitions. Over the past 7 years he has built an extensive, high quality property portfolio which he both manages day-to-day and provides strategic direction for future growth.
Prior to joining TriColour Investments, Rob was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the Sage Group PLC International Region comprising Africa, Australia, Middle East, Asia and Brazil. In this role he was responsible for driving financial performance, fiscal discipline, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, group treasury and other related activities.
Rob completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of Witwatersrand in 1992 and 1994 respectively, and is a member of the South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2004 he obtained a MBA from the Manchester Business School in England.
Ivan Epstein – Executive Chairman
Ivan joined TriColour Investments as Executive Chairman. Through his vision and leadership, he has played a major part in the growth of the portfolio since inception. He provides oversight of the growth strategy, actively participates in deal negotiation and drives value creation through new opportunities.
Ivan was the co-founded Softline in 1988. He led the company’s growth from a start-up to a listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1997.
In September of 2003, Softline delisted and was acquired by UK listed FTSE 100, Sage Group PLC. Ivan was appointed CEO of the Sage International region (comprising Africa, Australia, Middle East, Asia and Brazil) and served on the Sage Executive Committee responsible for the strategic direction of the Sage Group globally.
Ivan was awarded the Ernst and Young (EY) “South Africa’s Best Entrepreneur” in 1999/2000, and appointed to the panel of judges where he now serves as Chairperson. For his contribution to the growth and development of the IT industry, Ivan was awarded SA’s “IT Personality of the Year” in 2009.
